Skeyes convention (2020)

The project

In this project for SKEYES (the autonomous public company in charge of the safety of air traffic in Belgium), I was in charge of benchmarking take-off and landing routes of several major airport in the world. I also automatized the downloading and pre-processing of raw flight data from the Skeyes servern using Python. In addition, this project was an opportunity to produce an article with prof. Frédéric Dobruszkes on a global analysis of airports’ enclosure by urban areas and population.

Skills learned and/or deployed:

  • Airport operations procedures (Standard Instrument Departure routes, Noise preferential routes, Noise and track keeping systems)
  • Python programming and automation of processes
  • Grass Gis, Qgis
  • Unix
